Sexual addiction is painful, isolating, layered with guilt, shame, and hopelessness. The path to freedom starts with taking a step out of hiding and I provide a safe, shame and judgment free environment to share the painful narratives and make the lasting changes. From an attachment informed lens I utilize a combination of CBT, EFT, and narrative processing to help clients address the wounds they carry both from what has been done to them and what they have done to others to finally break free from their unwanted sexual behavior and develop healthier ways of being with both themselves and those they love.
Some couples suffer from the pain of a major event such as infidelity, while others simply have drifted apart and find themselves living with a stranger. In couples therapy I help couples to identify their dysfunctional patterns through a combination of EFT, Gottman, and RLT techniques to address the internal narratives which hold each individual back from being connecting intimately with one another. Some relationships simply need a tune up to get back on track, while others need a full repair. I provide a judgement free place for both partners to feel heard and develop deeper connections to each other.
Whether its feelings of anxiety or depression, overwhelming circumstances in life, or a preexisting psychiatric condition, I focus on each individuals ability to find answers and make the changes regardless of the circumstances with a combination of CBT and EFT techniques that aim to develop resiliency and relational strength. I take each client's goals for change and help them to find their own paths forward by identifying the obstacles within themselves that are holding them back with a holistic approach to individual, social, and spiritual needs.
